We, at Miami First Haitian Free Methodist Church, believe that our ushers are what waitresses are in a good restaurant (Matt 25:35c). Under the leadership of the Women’s ministry, the ushers are directed by pastor Fontus as the coordinator, and Marie Carmelle Pierre (Soeur Luc) is the head usher.
Our ushering staff’s fundamentally basic role is to ensure the sustainable and proper Sunday morning service. Every Sunday morning, from the opening of Sunday school to the end of our morning service, the fervent ushers are assigned to do the following:
a) Welcome worshippers and lead them to the vacant seats;
b) Create an atmosphere of hospitality for all;
c) Introduce guests with young children to the nursery staff for help, when necessary;
d) Provide adult visitors with envelop and a pencil to write their information on;
e) Be ready to help guests, and report to pastor Fontus or her designee;
f) Do what they are assigned and follow scrupulous principles for the sustainability of every Sunday morning service;
